Tips & Tricks:

To create my card for today, I started out by creating to sentinels. I wanted to have a ton of little hearts on in the background, but didn’t want to stamp them all. I knew that I wanted to do ink blending; so creating the sentinel was the only way. I then decided to create two using vellum cardstock and the Be Mine stitched framelits. I used the two smallest hearts to do this. I started out with two 3″ x 6″ pieces of vellum and die cut each heart shape on one piece making sure once I had one done I layered them together and placed the other heart where I wanted them to be slightly overlapping the ones on the previous stencil. This resulted in the background of my card.

I used all four colors on the background. Each were applied through the stencils with a sponge dauber. Next I cut out one of the larger stitched hearts from Vellum and the letters to spell LOVE from the large letters framelit dies. Each letter was cut out twice and layered together using multipurpose liquid glue. I placed the large vellum heart where I wanted it and secured it in place using a little Tear & Tape. Which by the way almost completely disappears behind vellum. This is my favorite way of attaching vellum.

I placed each letter on the vellum heart and card front with the use of mini stampin’ dimensionals. Some of which had to be cut in half so they would fit. Yes, it’s a little time consuming and tricky but well worth it. Next I stamped the sentiment from the Incredible Like You Stamp set and cut out the parts I didn’t want. A little fussy cutting and it was all done. I added these cut out sentiments with a little liquid glue so once dry they wouldn’t move at all.

To finish off my card I simply added it to a Coastal Cabana mat (4 x 5 1/4) and to my Whisper White card base (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2). And that my friends finished the card.
