Hello and welcome to the first One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop for 2019. We are excited to be back with you after a little break for the Holidays. This month’s theme is Saleabrate Every Occasion. We are showcasing both products from the 2019 Occasions Catalog as well as the Saleabration Brochure.
For my projects I picked some of my favorite products from both publications. And, believe me it with all the great products in both it wasn’t an easy task. I did mange to narrow it down to a few favorites. I picked the Birthday Statements stamp set as well as the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the projects I came up with.
I created a birthday card and a cute little decorated Treat cup using the Sweet cups in the How Sweet it is Suite (in the Occasions Catalog) as well as a tag for the top. Okay lets start with the Sweet Cup shall we.
For the Sweet Cup I started out by taking one of the eight that came in the pack and cut it apart. I used this for my template to cut my piece of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (Saleabration item). I picked the black and white gingham pattern. I added a 1/2″ on one side so that there was enough to wrap around the cup. I couldn’t leave the top just plain white now could I. So I had to decorate the top as well.
For the top I used some of the same elements that would appear on my card. I started out by using my layering circle framelits and die cut the largest circle out of Basic Black Cardstock. I placed this on top. Next I took some of the Grapefruit Grove Foil Paper (also a Saleabration Item) and ran it through the Big Shot with my Lace Dynamic TIEF (from the Occasions Catalog) next I cut another circle from that piece and placed on top. So the side and top of the sweet cup was looking just dapper that it was time to work on the tag. I stamped the Birthday from the Birthday Statement Cling Stamp Set (2019 Occasions Catalog) in Tuxedo Black ink on some whisper white cardstock. I then took a few of my Stampin’ Blends to color it.
I used two new colors that you will find in the Occasions Catalog; Balmy Blue (both New light and dark), Mossy Meadow (both New light & Dark), Highland Heather (light & Dark), Flirty Flamingo (light & Dark), plus a little Calypso Coral (Light). I mixed the Dark & Light Flirty Flamingo and the Light Calypso Coral to create as close as a color as I could to Grapefruit Grove. Once it was all colored I colored some rhinestones with Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin’ Blend and added them to the center of each flower. I then took a strip of basic black and heat embossed the happy in the set in white embossing powder. I did a little partial cutting on the tag and then a little fussy cutting. I then punched the end and added a little Black shimmer ribbon in a bow to tie in the black ink and the Designer Series paper. I used the Butterfly Duet punch (2019 Occasions Catalog) and punched out one of the butterflies from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series paper and added it to the top of the Tag with a dimensional.
The same coloring that I did on the Sweet Cup I also did on my Card. I started my stamping and coloring the same image as above. Once this was done I matted the color image on a piece of Basic Black cardstock to create a little mat. Then I created my card base with a piece of Basic Black (5 1/2 x 8 /2 scored at 4 1/4). I then covered the entire card front with the black and white gingham paper from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. I then took some of the Grapefruit Grove Foil sheets that I used before that was embossed with the Lace Dynamic TEIF and cut off the scalloped edges from both ends. Before I placed the foil sheets I popped up my focal image on Dimensionals and then placed the foil sheets under the edges.
To finish off my card I stamped the sentiment on the inside and added a strip of the black and white gingham dsp to finish it off.
I did the same embellishments for the card as I did the sweet cup. I added the same colored rhinestones and the same butterfly along with the same heat embossed Happy, so that the tag and card both read Happy Birthday.
