Hello and welcome to my blog Today, I am going to share with you a set of fun festive cards that could be used all year long. I used the retiring Candy Cane Season Stamp Set for my card. This is a very fun and versatile stamp set. Everything depends on how you create your project. You can take them from vintage (which is what candy canes remind me of Christmas as a child), to very modern. Here’s a look at my card.
I started out by stamping the candy canes in different colors in a row. I picked a rainbow of colors; Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Blueberry Bushel, and Call Me Clover. I stamped each one in a different one of these colors, for a fun and flirty card. I thought it was very fitting to use the 2018-2020 In-Colors, since they are the perfect little rainbow. All of these where stamped on Very Vanilla Cardstock. In the gallery below you will find a closeup look at all five versions. I’ve listed the color that I used in the caption of each image.
Once I had everything stamped it was time to mount everything onto the mats and the card bases. I picked the Thick very vanilla cardstock for the bases. Each one was cut at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. I used the matching in-color cardstock for both the mats and the thank you die cut.
These cards look a little more complicated then you would think they are. It’s just a matter of figuring out your pattern. I started out by stamping each one in a row one color at a time. The next one I would alternate between facing one way then flipping it around and going the other. You will see how I created one of the cards in the video below. The video you will watch was my YouTube Live from 12/4/18. I do YouTube Lives every Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 PM CST, and Facebook Lives every Wednesday at 8:00 pm CST.
Thanks for dropping by today. I hope that you have enjoyed my cards today, and that you will give this a try. I can totally see the thinlits die being switched out to the Happy Birthday die to make these Birthday Cards. If you need any of the supplies you’ve seen today in my post you can order them in my online store by clicking on the images below.
