Hello and welcome to this weeks Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week we have a fun sketch challenge for you.  I picked the Candy Cane Season stamp set to do my card.  I love the Candy Cane Season Photopolymer Stamp Set because it takes me back to my childhood.  My parents always made sure that Santa put candy canes in our stockings.  This stamp set can go so many ways.  You can create cards and problems that have a modern, vintage, or clean and simple feel to them with this set.  That’s what makes it such a wonderful set.  Here’s a look at my card.

Here’s a look at this weeks sketch.  You can click on this card and visit the Paper Craft Crew’s website and see what all the other design team members came up with.  The challenge will go live at 6:30 am EST.

I started out by stamping the candy cane & bow in poppy parade using my Stamparatus.  Then I took the outline stamp and stamped it in Sahara Sand.  By using both plates I was able to stamp both images with perfect placement.  Once I had everything stamped I punched it out using the matching Candy Cane Builder Punch.

I added the bow to the candy cane with a mini glue dot.  I then added the candy cane to stampin’ dimensionals to a 2″ circle punch.  That was added to a piece of Garden Green cardstock that was punched out with the Starburst Punch.  These two punches have been my go to punch for so many cards lately.  They work so well together and nestle just perfectly.  I added a strip of Crumb Cake to the back of the starburst that I flagged on both ends.  You all know I love me some Crumb Cake, it’s one of my go to colors, and it works so great with both Garden Green and Poppy Parade as a fun twist on a traditional Christmas Color Combination.

Once my color combination was nailed down, it was easy to put everything else together with out a problem..  Before putting everything together I added a strip of the Candy Cane Designer Series Paper from the Santa’s Workshop Designer Series Paper.  While I had this pack of designer series paper out I took the time and used the matching Santa’s Signpost Framelits to cut out one of the little elf.  Which was added to the front of the card with a stampin’ dimensional.  Then I placed the Candy Cane element, and added some of the Santa’s workshop enamel dots (now sold out because they were so popular).  I stamped the sentiment at the top of the card.
