Okay my second unorganized organizedish type of swap was for Kylie Bertucci’s Meet & Greet and Swap. It was make as many as you want and swap while mingling type of thing. For those that don’t know Kylie is the #1 demonstrator in Australia this year. Kylie did a wonderful video workshop on how to cut your designer series paper and actually use it. The Love it chop it model has changed my life I used to buy the designer series paper and not really use it. Now I use a lot more of it and it’s thanks to her videos. Here’s a look at my card.
I used the Natures Root Designer Series Paper, the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set, and based all my colors off the Designer Series Paper. I pulled all the card base colors from the paper, so when you want to design swaps make sure you do this it makes everything so much easier. I made 144 cards from one pack of the designer series paper in just a few hours.
It’s all a matter of how you cut your designer series paper. I cut mine to 3″ x 4″ so you get 12 from one sheet of designer series paper. I then cut the mats to 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 from whisper white cardstock. My card bases where all cut to 4 1/4 x 11 (scored at 5 1/2) and they were all done in Cardstock that coordinated the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper. I did card bases in Soft Suede, Petal Pink, Blackberry Bliss, Tranquil Tide, Grapefruit Grove, Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry and Mint Macaron I used strips of scrap cardstock in Whisper White to stamp the sentiment (from Rooted in Nature) in Mint Macaron.
By using the eight different colors of cardstock for the bases I didn’t have to use so many packs of cardstock. I could use a smaller number of each color. Since you get two card bases from one sheet of cardstock it makes it even more cost effective.
This card design makes it super easy to do a lot of cards and get them done quickly. I think I may do some of my Christmas cards this way this year.
Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful day. I will see you again in the morning with a new blog post.
