Hello and welcome to this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. This month’s kit was so stinking cute and so easy. It’s one of those that will make your head spin at how easy it is to put together. But no mater how cute a Kit is sometimes you want to do something a little different, or do something with those left over pieces.
That’s what this Hop is all about. Each member of the Hop will share with you a couple alternative projects you can do with the kit and a few extra supplies. Here’s the projects I came up with this month.
For my alternative projects this month I created a card using some additional supplies along with a few of the feathers from this month’s kit, the wonderful adhesive backed sequins and the stamp set. My dimensional project is a Bag-Box with a card on the front. Before I share a little more about my projects let me share a little about this month’s kit.
Here’s a look at all the cards that the kit makes according to the directions. Here’s a look at all the supplies that comes in this $19.99 monthly subscription kit.
My Feather Card:
Okay for my card this month I simply did a very clean and simple design using some additional cardstock and three of the feathers from this month’s kit. I took the Coastal Cabana, Cajun Craze, and Grapefruit Grove feathers and attached them together using the mini glue dots from the kit. I tied some of the baker’s twine from the kit around the top of the grouping. I attached them to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. I stamped the sentiment of the front at the bottom before attaching it to the mat. I then matted that on a piece of Grapefruit Grove Cardstock (3 3/4 x 5) and attached it to my card base(Coastal Cabana 4 1/4 x 11). To finish off the card I added some of the wonderful adhesive backed sequins.
A Bag A Box & A card: All in One
For my dimensional project I created a bag-box. I saw this done by Ronda Wade a couple weeks ago and I made one to fit my Christmas Gift that I took to a Dirty Santa Party but I made that version bigger. But this version I made with two 8 1/2 x 11 pieces of cardstock. I stamped the feather image from the stamp set around the cardstock and then made three score marks to create the two sides. Once that was complete I used tear & tape to put it together.
For the card part of the bag-box I trimmed down one of the card bases to 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 and folded it as normal I added a matching panel (as the bag-box) on the front I added a die cut feather and vine to the front along with the night of navy oval and sentiment.
Well those are my two projects for this month’s hop. I hope that you have a great time hopping along with us this month. To go to the next blog on the hop click on the little blue icon below to pull up the blog roll.
