Hello and welcome to my blog today: I wanted to share this card that I made last night. It wasn’t the card I intended to share for my post today but after I finished it I loved it so much and was so excited about it I just had to share it with you all today. Here’s the card I’m super excited about.

I got a small order in yesterday with my new shimmer paints and the Sprites Snowman Stamp Set. I had sketched out a few designs in my card sketch book over the weekend because I knew this Set was coming and I want to use it in a upcoming class. I knew that I wanted to do a night scene with the image of the two snow people. So after a little thought I decided on building my scene with just my Stampin Blends. Something I had never done.

So as I was playing I really started putting theme through their paces. I layered layered and layered some more. Sometimes during the process I considered just tossing it and trying something else but I heard that little voice inside say no keep layering and keep going. So I did.

I layered colors that I never thought about layering before. Now, by no means am I a alcohol marker expert. Normally my coloring with blends are super simple; using the only the light and dark of each color. So since I was pushing myself I thought why not try new combinations.

Once I had all the coloring done I flicked on the Shimmery paint. I used frost white since I thought it was the most appropriate for snow. And I’m very happy with the results.

So I just wanted to share this with you all, and remind you that sometimes you need to get out of your comfort zone and really push something you want to try. I did and came out with a really cute card I’m very happy about.

Happy Stampin’

Rick
