Hello and welcome to my YouTube Channel and Blog today; where I am going to be sharing with you my Falling For Leaves Fall themed Thank You note cards.  I will actually be sending these out to everyone that placed a order with me this month.  These note cards are really easy and quick to create.  And, are a prefect project for using up scraps of designer series paper that you just don’t know what to do with.  You know those pieces that you have but, just can’t bare to part with.  Well these is a project that you can to bring that stash down just a little.  Here’s a picture of both style of note cards.

I used the fabulous Delightfully Detailed note cards and envelopes for these cards.  There are 20 note cards in a pack and there are 10 in Mint Macaron and 10 Blackberry Bliss, both with two different designs.  These have been one of my favorite note cards next to the Crumb Cake Note cards that we no longer have.  I had to have these as soon as I saw them back in April at OnStage when demonstrators got their first look at the new Annual Catalog.

Tips & Tricks:

With the pre-done watercolor look on these note cards it makes for a wonderful presentation without a lot of work.  And, you get to take all the credit.

  • Take your scraps of designer series paper that measures 1″ x 4″ so you can easily cut them down if need be from larger pieces.  I am using the Country Lane Designer Series Paper as my pick for my fall themed cards.  This pack of paper features the Blackberry Bliss in it so it made for a perfect match with the note cards.  I then just used the banner triple punch to create the flagged tail.
  • Next i stamped the sentiment from All Things Thanks using either Mint Macaron or Blackberry Bliss inks depending on the color of the card base.  I usually go with the opposite color of the card base; for example if it’s a mint card base I used blackberry bless ink.

To add a little more color and a little shine to the leaf I watercolor certain parts with ink and wink of stella.  This is by far my favorite way to watercolor.  It not only moves the ink around well buy it adds some wonderful glitter to the project with ease.

To finish off the card I add a double bow made from Linen Thread.  This was secured to leaf stem with a mini glue dot.  I also add three of the Faceted Dots to the front of the card.  One in Mint Macaron, blackberry bliss, and one in Grapefruit Grove (to add a little contrast).
