Hello and welcome to my second post today; I wanted to share with you a card that I got inspiration for from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. I ran across this cute card and just knew I wanted to recreate it. The card features the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set which is one of my favorites. It’s simple and can be used for all seasons; which is one of the reasons I love this stamp set. I love a set that I can use all year long. Here’s a look at my card.
Here’s a look at the inspiration card from the catalog.
This card design was super easy to do. I stamped the trees on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (4 x 5 1/4) using soft suede ink. After that I ran it through the Big Shot using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Once that was done I attached it to my Crumb Cake Card Base (5 1/2 x 8 1/2). I then took and cut out three circles using the Layering Circles Framelits and stamped the trees on each circle.
I used circles out of Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze cardstocks. I actually used scraps to do this. Once I had everything cut I stamped the tree branches on each circle using soft suede ink. I then just layered each circle over the trees; making sure to line them up the way they go. On the center tree I actually popped it up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped by masking of the larger part of the sentiment that I didn’t need and then trimming it out. I popped that up also. I added a double linen thread bow using a mini glue dot to finish off the card.
By changing up the color of the cardstock you can change up the seasonal feel of the card. For example you can change the colors to different greens and have a summery fill, or change it to different spring colors and have a spring tree, leave the circles off and you have a winter feel. Here’s a look at the Summer Card that I created.
Thanks for dropping by for the second time today. I hope that you have enjoyed the cards that I have created for this post. If you need any of the products that you have seen today you can pick them up in my online store.
