Hello and welcome to my blog today.   I hope that you are having a wonderful morning so far.  I am sitting here drinking a cup of coffee as I type this post thinking about Fall; the beautiful colors, falling leaves, the crisp air hitting you skin, and getting to wear the cutest sweaters.  Ahhh how relaxing, then I remember I live in the South, were we have two maybe three days of cooler weather and then it moves right on to winter.  So I get to enjoy my card today instead.  Today’s card features the new bundle “Falling for Leaves” from the Holiday catalog.  It gives you the that nice cool Fall feeling.  Here’s a look at my card.

This is a fun whimsical Fall Set with its delicate detailed designs that lends itself to some fun options.  Here’s a look at the stamp set that inspired my card.

On my card I did the Rock and Roll technique with the main leaf in Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler and then added a little wink of Stella to give a slight watercolor effect.  Once that was dried I curled the leaves a little and added it on top of a die cut leaf in Cherry Cobbler.  I wanted to add a little bling to the card but I didn’t want to do the regular rhinestones, but besides the Real Red ones that’s all we have.  But, if you own the Stampin’ Blends all you have to do is color them any color you want.  I went with the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin Blend.  Colored all the number that I needed and let them dry just for a few minutes.  Once dried I added them to the cardfront.

My color scheme for this card was a fun unexpected Fall color combo. I used Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and paired these warm rich regal tones with the cool calming Balmy Blue.  This helps establish the card back into its whimsical feel.

For the inside of the card I stamped the images from the stamp set with each of the colors on a piece of Whisper white cardstock.  I stamped the envelope to match for a coordinating look.

I mentioned that this was a bundle in the Holiday catalog that means that when you order these two items together using the one item number you will save 10%.  Stampin’ Up! has already applied the 10% savings to the price how great is that. Here’s what’s in the bundle.

I got my inspiration for today’s card from one of the samples in the holiday catalog.  Which is a great place to find card designs and inspiration.  Our catalogs are so much more than just a shopping tool.  My inspiration came from the card at the top.
