Hello and welcome to this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This week’s challenge is all about Fancy Folds. There are so many different fancy folds that you could do for this challenge it’s hard to narrow it down to just one. There’s z folds, double z folds, corner folds, gatefolds just to name a few. I wanted to do something that I have never done before. So I did a little research and decided to do a diamond fold card. So now that that was decided it was time to decide what to use. Since this was a new fold to me I decided to use some of the new Holiday products that will be available September 5th. Here’s a look at my card for today.
And here’s a look at the theme card for this weeks sketch. You can click on the image to be taken to the Design team page to see what all the other design team members did with this weeks theme.
Blend Blend and Blend Some More:
I love Halloween so it was easy to decide to use the new Cauldron Bubble Suite in the upcoming catalog. This suite has a fun group of products that make creating cards, treats, and other projects for Halloween super easy. I used the wonderful Cauldron Bubble Stamp Set which features some fun line art images that can be colored with your favorite color media. I chose to use my Stampin’ Blends to color.
Double Double Toil & Trouble:
I picked both current colors and some that will be coming in the new Holiday Catalog. to color the images in the stamp set I used both light and dark of the following colors Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather, Smokey Slate, Soft Suede, Mango Melody (New), Basic Black (New), and Petal Pink. Yes, you read that right we are getting Mango Melody, and Basic Black in Stampin’ Blends. Along with Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Real Red, and Shaded Spruce all available in the Holiday Catalog.
For my diamond fold card I needed to use some cute paper. So, you know that Stampin’ Up! has delivered that too in the Holiday Catalog. I used the matching Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper for my card. This 12 x 12 paper pack has some of the cutest Halloween images that you will see in a long time. Each double sided paper features some of the cutest watercolor images that are spooky and fun, great for a fun filled night of tricks and treats. I picked the Witches hats for one of the patterns for my design, I mean come on they are not only as cute as can be but they match the witch from the stamp set perfectly. I also used the Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather Striped piece for the front of the card. I also used the cutest piece of paper that had all the little frogs that you will ever see.
One of the other great things about this pack of designer series paper is that fact that both the upcoming Bat Punch and the Cauldron Framelit Dies fit images on the paper! No fussy cutting!!! Insert Kermit the Frog Yay here. When the card is folded up its only about 4″ square which means you can still put it in a standard A2 size envelope.
Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have enjoyed my little sneak peak of some of the upcoming release from the Holiday Catalog. I also hope that you visit the Paper Craft Crew’s website this week and take a little time and play along with this week’s sketch challenge. The entire teams post will be up and running at 6:30 am eastern time. I also hope that you add these items to your Holiday Catalog wish list and put them in your shopping cart starting September 5th. As I sign off today I am going to leave you with these lines from Macbeth.
