Today I’m going to share with you how to put together one of the cards from this month’s card kit. I designed this kit to help you get a jump start on your Christmas Cards. The kit uses the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at today’s card.
Christmas cards need to be quick and easy to reproduce in my opinion since the normal person needs to make on average about 50 cards. Stampin’ Up! makes creating your own handmade cards so easy with the coordination of products. I first picked the designer series paper. My colors came from that. I also picked this paper one because it was in the Annual catalog and I could get it now and start working on my cards, and not have to wait for the Holiday catalog that releases in September. The other reason I picked this paper was because it had some wonderful designs. It has plaid, geometric, traditional, and fun images so it’s great for all types of Holiday Cards.
Once that was picked I could then use the coordinating stamp set cardstock pack and embellishments to create the cards. When everything’s that easy it makes it super quick to do your cards. I knew I wanted to use the new Real Red Rhinestones also in the Under the Mistletoe Suite. They are the perfect little embellishment to add the holiday bling to these cards. I love the sparkle they give off.
I went with the Mistletoe Season Stamp Set not only because it coordinates with the suite but it also has a lot of different images that can be used for different types of cards. I used the bow on my card today as a background image on my card. You will see other examples on the other cards later on.
I used the 3/8″ Real Red cotton ribbon to add to the bottom part of the card. I tied a simple knot for the front of the card. This ribbon ties really easily.
By using the coordinating Under the Mistletoe cardstock pack and a little extra cardstock you can create your cards easily. That’s one of the great things about the matching cardstock packs you can get everything you need to make the coordinating card bases and elements to your cards. I used mine to make the card base and the mat for the designer series paper.
