Hello and welcome to my YouTube Channel and blog; today I’m going to share with you the replay of last weeks Facebook live mini class were I showed how to create a fun elegant easy Christmas card using Stampin spots and a little heat embossing. You may be thinking well that’s nothing impressive but I’m going to show you a new technique on how to use your spots.

If you don’t know what Stampin spots are well they are the small cubes of ink that you get with your Paper Pumpkin Subscriptions each month. By the way it’s a great time to subscribe until the 10th because new subscribers get 50% off their first month. I will post the details below. If you don’t get Paper Pumpkin you can also buy uninked spots in my online store and add your own ink refills to them. Here’s a look at today’s card.

Tips & Tricks:

This technique works best with a well inked pad, since you are smooshing the spot on the cardstock you want to have enough ink to transfer. You can do this in many ways and get different effects each time. For example you get a different look if you twist the spot verses dragging and pulling.

If you have the uninked spots do one in versamark for easier control. The larger pads are a little cumbersome and not as easy to control as you will see in the video. Somewhere I have a mini versamark spot but couldn’t find it in this disaster of a studio before filming. So I went with what I had.

The transformation really happens when you add the embossing powder to the card and heat set it. Heat embossing takes this technique one step further and creates an elegant effect without a lot of work. Which if you follow me you know I adore.

The beautiful script font from the limited time Blended Seasons Stamp Set makes for the perfect pair with this abstract beauty. It adds just enough to the card without taking away from the colorful abstraction.
