Hello and welcome to my blog today. Well it’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for a new Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a fun sketch for you to play along with. I had a lot of fun creating the card for this weeks challenge. I picked products from the Tropical Escape Suite to create my card. I just loved all the products from that suite; it’s a fun summery suite that gives the feel of being on a tropical island somewhere. Here’s a look at my card.
Here’s a look at this weeks challenge card. (Click on the image to go to the challenge page this week.)
I stamped the two leaves and one of the flowers using colors that are all in the Designer Series Paper on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I started out by stamping the shorter of the leaves in Shaded Spruce. The Palm was stamped in Granny Apple Green (one of my favorite greens), and the flower was stamped in Blushing Bride.
Once I had all the stamped images done I used the Tropical thinlits to cut them out. I started out with a card base made from Shaded Spruce cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2. I cut a 1″ strip x 5 1/2″ and added to the left side of the card. So you can get six strips from one sheet of 6×6 piece of designer series paper. I stamped my sentiment on a 1/2″ x 3 1/2 piece of whisper white. The sentiment was stamped in Soft Sea Foam to match the designer series paper strip that I picked.
Each of the die cuts and the sentiment was popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish the card I stamped the same two leaves on a piece of Whisper White (3 3/4 x 5) using second generation stamping, and added a 1/2″ strip of the same designer series paper.
I hope that you find time to play along this week with this fun sketch. Remember that you can see what all the design team came up with for our 300th challenge by clicking here.
