Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am featuring the second card in my July card kit that could be earned with purchase this month. This month I’m featuring the Wood Texture designer series paper and the Wood Words Stamp Set. Here’s a look at my card today.

Just because you use designer series paper doesn’t mean you can not stamp on it. I stamped on the designer series paper that I cut down to 3 3 /4 x 5 using the flower image from Wood Words and stamped around the designer series paper in Flirty Flamingo Classic Ink. I wanted to create a vignette around where my sentiment would be placed. The texture of the wood paper created the perfect backdrop for the sentiment and the flowers adding both interest and texture to the card front.

After the flowers were stamped I stamped the sentiment Hello Friend in Flirty Flamingo in the center. I took a piece of Whisper white card stock (just a little scrap) and die cut the tag using the Wood Crate Framelits and stamped thanks a bunch in matching ink. The tag was then added to the card front with a Stampin’ dimensional. To tie in the natural element of the wood I added a double bow with linen thread that was added with a mini glue dot.

The card front was then mounted onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 x 5 1/4. And the entire piece was added to a Flirty Flamingo card base (4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2). You could totally add a few embellishments at this point but I wanted to keep it very simple and let the stamping and wood texture be the focal point.

I hope that you have enjoyed my card today and that you will try stamping on your designer series paper to add some texture and interest.

Happy Stampin’

Rick
