Hello and welcome to my blog today I hope that you are having a great week. Am glad that you have popped on to join me for my card for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Challenge. We had a really fun sketch to play around with this week that will let your imagination run wild like mine. My card today features the Tree Rings Background stamp, and the large letters framelits. Here’s a look at my card.
Here’s a look at the challenge card for this week’s sketch.
Ink It Up!
To start off I simply took a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 piece of whisper white cardstock and stamped the Tree Rings background stamp on it in Versamark ink. Next, I added white embossing powder to that and heat set it. After that came all the ink. I did a little ink blending all over the stamped and embossed image in a dialogical pattern. When inking I followed rainbow order. Inks that were used to ink blend were as followed: Real Red, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, and Gorgeous Grape. Once everything was ink blended I took a paper towel and ran over it to remove any ink from the embossed areas. I took some scrap paper and did the same ink blending besides on one piece was just the warm colors and the other piece was just cool colors.
Once all the ink blending was down on the scrap pieces I sprinkled on a little water and dried it with a paper towel and heat set it. I then pulled out the Large Letters Framelits and cut out the phrase Hey You. So to do this I ran the Y through twice. I knew what I wanted to spell out so I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock and matted it on a basic black mat which was just 1/8″ bigger than the white. I mirrored the mats on both of the layers, so each mat is just 1/8″ larger.
I popped up the squares on the embossed piece and added the words with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. To achieve the off set look as in the sketch I just offset both sets of words and let them hang over the smaller square. I added a strip of Basic Black cardstock with flagged ends and heat embossed the second sentiment in Whisper White. So the entire sentiment reads “Hey You Be Your Wonderful Self”. Which I thought was just a wonderful sentiment for a card. You may be asking wait that’s not part of the background stamp; and you would be correct. I used the small sentiment from Postcard Pals which worked fabulous.
That finishes up my card for today. I hope that you play along this week.
