Hello and welcome to my blog this morning. I am calling my card today which uses the Postcard Pals, Postscript, and Broadway Star (June 2018 Paper Pumpkin) Stamp sets and the Celebrate you thinlets You Otter Celebrate. I thought it was kind of a fun title for this fun rainbow background card. Here’s a look at the card for today.

Today’s card has a ton of techniques to try. I started off by creating a rainbow embossed resist Background on a piece of Whisper white cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and after all the ink blending cut it down to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. I find it easier to start larger and trim down my resist pieces later. I used versamark ink and inked up the Postscript background stamp and then added clear embossing powder and heat set it. Once that had cooled I started my ink blending.

For my ink blending today I started out with Real Red, then moved to Poppy Parade, next to Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and finally ended with Gorgeous Grape. Anytime I ink blend I start out light and come back and do another layer or two of the same colors and blend them together a little harder.

Next I stamped the little otter from Postcard Pals (you all know how much I love this stamp set) in Momento Tuxedo Black ink so that I could color him using my Stampin’ blends. I still don’t have all the new colors of blends they are on their way and should be here later this week. I colored this cute little fur ball in bronze, ivory, Crumb Cake Dark and Light and used Pineapple Punch (dark and light) for his shirt. I added a little Pink Pierette (retired) to his cheeks for a rosy look. The mailbox was colored using smoky slate(light & dark), bronze and a little night of navy light in the shadow on the wood. The grass was done using both of the old olive Stampin’ blends. I did add a little cherry cobbler light to the flag on the mailbox and a little call me Clover to the stem of the flower. The sky was created using both pool party Stampin blends.

Once all the color was done it was time to start the die cutting. I used the layering square framelits to cut out the otter and a scalloped square that would be his mat. I picked the scalloped square because it gave the look of a postage stamp. I popped this up using Stampin’ dimensionals. I then cut out the Celebrate from the Celebrate You Thinlits from a piece of Basic Black cardstock that was attached to a little multipurpose adhesive sheet. The double sided adhesive sheets are great for die cut sentiments or intricate die cuts. They make it so easy to add those elements to your cards.

I added the cardfront which was matted to a piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock (which by the way is my featured Color this month in my color club you can find out more on that here) cut to 4 x 5 1/4. I heat embossed a tiny sentiment from The Broadway Star Stamp Set (the June Paper Pumpkin kit). I first thought it came from something from the big catalog and realized where it came from after it was attached. Anyway it was heat embossed in white on a strip of Basic Black cardstock and attached using a little liquid glue and a mini dimensional on one side.

My cardbase is a piece of thick whisper white cut to 4 1/4 x 11 scores at 5 1/2. To finish off the card I added some clear sequins around using mini glue dots.

That finishes my card for today. If you need any of the products you have seen today you can pick them up in my online store 24/7 by clicking on the shopping cart below or clicking on the product in the supply list. I hope you have a wonderful day.
