Have you seen a rainbow? Have you seen stain glass windows? Have you seen them together? Well with the fun embossed resist technique I used on this card you will have to say yes to all the questions above. I love emboss resist it’s a super easy technique that looks harder than it is. And I actually do enjoy ink blending in rainbow order so with today’s card I got to do both. And in my video tutorial I will walk you through how (for those that haven’t done it before) and what colors I’ve used. Here’s a look at today’s card.

Rainbow Ink Blending:

I’ve learned over the last few years that I enjoy ink blending even when it’s a pain in the bottom. By remembering just a few simple things you can actually do it easily.

First you have to remember to be very light handed (something I struggle with). Second have fun and relax it’s only Ink and paper. There’s two sides so if you don’t like it flip it over or get a new piece. Third start off the paper and work your way into your project.

With today’s card I not only used one or two colors but I used a rainbow of color to ink blend the embossed images of the stain glass windows. As you know (if you follow any Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator’s blog) we just had a color revamp. So for my card I used some of the new colors as well as some of the returning colors. You will find a list of all the colors I used below in the supply list to order.  Here are the colors that I used for the card.

I only have one bit of advice for you when your using rainbow blending. And, that’s to keep complimentary colors away from each other. Complimentary colors when blended or mixed together will create a natural grey. I know you’ve heard that it creates mud but in the art world if you take these colors and add white to them they will create a natural grey color.

This is something that you don’t want even through they do have there place in the art world when ink blending we don’t want them. We want to keep our colors nice and vibrant. We want to draw the eye to our focal image.
