Today I am going to share a card that uses products from the Tea Room Suite in the 2018 Annual Catalog. This suite is very cute, sophisticated, and playful all at the same time. For my card today I did a little paper piecing to create the chevron pattern. It looks a lot more complicated than it really is, but before I go into the details lets look at the card today.
Tips & Tricks:
So I said that it was a lot easier then it looks, and really it is. The first thing you have to do is cut your strips of Designer Series paper. Now, let me just say you could do this with so many different types of paper, from cardstock, designer series paper, a combination of the two. On my card I only used two pieces cut at 4 x 5 1/4, and I cut them on my trimmer on the longest side at each 1/4″. I didn’t even use all the strips for my card.
To start out cut a piece of cardstock to 3 3/4 x 5 and add adhesive to it. Take one whole stripe and add it going at a diagonal all the way across. Next you are going to divide it into a third with a new strip butted up against the one we did first. This piece will go either down or up. Next you’re going to add another piece rotating the pattern this one will line up against the first one but butted up against the one before. After that it’s just repeating the process over and over on both sides. Once you get one side done you flip it over and trim off the excess. I use the cut offs to fill in the smaller open spaces.
After it I was finished I added it to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. Then that was added to a mat cut at 5 1/4 x 4 in Coastal Cabana. Then just simply added to my Rich Razzleberry Card base.
Once that is all done I stamped my sentiment in Rich Razzleberry and Coastal Cabana and stamped it on a large stitched oval and added some of the Tea Room Ribbon combo pack. Next I added a few Stampin’ dimensionals to the back and placed it on my card.
I loved this suite so much that I created a whole online class around it. My Time for Tea Online class is still open for about four more days. And this card is a perfect extra card for anyone that wanted to take the class. It uses a lot of the same supplies that come in your card to go kit with the class. If you want to know more about the Tea for Tea Online class or sign up you can find the details here.
Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you’ve enjoyed my card, and if you would like any of the supplies you have seen today you can order them in my online store 24/7, or if you are interested in taking my Time for Tea Online Class you can click on the image above or the link and register. The class is open to all in the US.
Oh I almost forgot to mention that this is a great card to use up craps.
