Hello and welcome to my blog one the first official day of summer. I thought it fitting to share with you s floral card today, so I pulled out a stamp set I’ve not used in awhile Painted Harvest. I know your thinking but that’s a fall stamp set, not necessarily it is a good all around floral stamp set. I hope that by the time I’m finished with this post you think so as well.
I thought it was funny that he card I was planning on posting featured flowers on the first day of Summer. Well, and here in Alabama it’s a wet first day. It’s raining like crazy outside and all our flowers are getting a nice drink of water.
This was just a picture from the front Porch, as I’m sitting in the swing writing this post it’s started to rain harder.
Changing Up Colors:
Yes, this stamp set did come out in last years holiday catalog, it was a huge seller then since it featured the beautiful sunflower stamp layering stamps. But, it doesn’t have to be just sunflowers, if you change the colors you can create so many more flowers all year long.
I will say that it was much easier to layer all together with the new Stamparatus (which is my featured product this week on my Facebook page). I layered it up with ease. When I was stamping it with just my blocks I always got the center off just slightly or one of the flower layers. I mean this wasn’t a big deal since it was intended to give you a watercolor artsy look.
The colors I picked to stamp the Painted Harvest images in were Petal Pink, So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam, and Garden Green.
I thought this would be a nice summery color combination for this card.
I picked my colors from the Garden Impressions 6×6 designer series paper pack. Since it has all those wonderful watercolor floral patterns I thought it would be perfect.
I added a sentiment from Special Celebrations on the outside and the matching sentiment on the inside. This is one of the reasons I love this stamp set. It contains not only the perfect outside sentiment but also the matching inside one as well. Which makes adding just the perfect sentiment so easy.
Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you enjoyed my little summer tribute, and that I helped you think of the Painted Harvest to use next time you need a floral card. If you don’t have either of these sets you differently need them. You can pick them up in my online store 24/7 by clicking on the shop tab above or by clicking on the item in the supply list.
