Today I’m going to share with you a fun birthday card just because I love it. What better reason to share a card with friends then because you love it. The card was created with the Hostess set Hand Delivered. This is a fun set that features sentiments for birthday, get well, thank you, and even graduation. What could be better in a Stamp Set. Here’s a look at today’s card.

When I worked in the Floral department at Food World in college I saw tons of mom’s walk out of the store this way. It just made me laugh each time and this card is no exception to bringing a smile to mine and the recipient’s face once it gets mailed to someone.

Here’s a look at the stamp set. And I’m just going to say that if you’ve ever made a paper doll as a kid this set will so take you back.

Tips & Tricks:

For the girl I used the stamped her legs and skirt first in Momento tuxedo black ink on a piece of Whisper white cardstock. I knew I wanted to do a little paper piecing: so then I turned around and stamped it again on a small piece of poppy paraded designer series paper, from the brights designer series paper collection. It doesn’t take much at all to do this so you could use up a lot of scraps if you wanted. Once I had it stamped out on the designer series paper I took my paper snips and fuzzy cut the skirt out. I added it over the stamped image with a little multipurpose liquid glue.

At this point after trying to stamp it once by hand I knew I had to pull in the Stamparatus to line up her top half of her body with the bottom. Let’s just say I missed up the first time. Not, that I ever make a mistake or anything. Even typing this sentence I can’t keep a straight face. I will say that using our new Percision stamping tool made it so much easier. I got it correct on the first try.

Once everything was stamped in place and ready to go it was time to start coloring. There are so many ways to color now, there’s Stampin’ blends (which if you haven’t heard are back in stock), watercolor pencils, ink pads and blended pens, or just the Stampin’ Write markers. I went with the Stampin’ write makers this time. I picked the markers in the bright collections because it’s a birthday card and it needs to be bright and fun. Also because I had used Poppy Parade designer series paper for the skirt. I colored each balloon with a different color and added a little highlight with a white gel pen (even with it being retired it’s still one of my favorite tools).

Once we were all colored it was time for a little trim. I took my stampin’ trimmer and lined up where I wanted the balloons to hang over and trimmed up to that balloon moved the trimmer blade to the other side of it and continued to cut. I repeated this process on the other side. Once that was done I simply cut around the balloon with my snips to cut away the extra. I added this to a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock as a little mat. I added another piece of the same Designer Series Paper to the bottom of the card, but just used the other side so there was a little contrast. I added a 1/4″ strip of Poppy Parade to hide the seam. Then I just popped my girl up using Stampin’ dimensionals and added the happy birthday with a couple more. I used the bunch of banners framelits to cut the flag banner because I was felling lazy. This made quick work of the banner. To finish off the card I added a few Clear sequins.

That completes my card for today, I hope that this card made you smile as much as I did while making it.  If you make an order of $150 or more you can get the Hand Delivered Stamp Set as part of your Stampin’ Rewards.  Since this is a host set this is the only way to get this set.  You can order the supplies to make this card and qualify for Stampin’ Rewards and get the Hand Delivered stamp set as part of your rewards.  Orders can be placed in my online store by clicking on the shop tab above, clicking on the shopping card below, or by clicking on the products in the supply list below.
