Today, I am going to share with you a quick and easy idea to dress up one of those small bottles of Hand Sanitizers that you can pick up at any store. I mean any store, from Walmart, CVS, to the Dollar Tree. This little purse gift bag makes a great presentation for something that we all need with us at all times. Here’s a look at today’s project that features the Tutti-Frutti 6×6 Designer Series Paper (which is sadly retiring insert sad face here). So I am just going to say that if you want this paper you need to grab it now! Here’s today’s project.
Most of the products from today’s project comes from the Tutti-Frutti Suite in the Occasions Catalog and as I said above I am sad that it is all on the retirement list and is only while supplies last. You can pick up any of these items in my online store. Here’s a look at all the designs that come in this little sweet pack of Designer Series paper.
The designer series paper features a fruit theme on onside and a patterned theme on the other. With the benefit of the two different types of designs on one sheet of paper means you can not go wrong with this sweet little paper stack gem.
This project looks a little more complicated than it really is. I thought when I was first shown this project by fellow demonstrator Charity Wright that it would be a pain, but it was super super easy to do. Why is it that some of the hardest looking things are really the most easiest?
So I bet your wondering what you could fit into this little goodie bag? Well, you can fit a couple mini kit-kats candy bars (my favorite), a couple snickers (also my favorite) and a small purse size hand sanitizer just to name a few. Here’s a look at the inside of the little treat bag.
I just happened to find fruit scented hand sanitizer when I went to the store. So it was perfect, I was planning on creating these as little pillow gifts for people that took my Tutti-Frutti retreat in a box back in January. So with that great find it was the right way to go.
It only takes one sheet of the Designer Series paper to create this little gem and a few scraps of cardstock so it’s perfect little something to create and give to someone or to start creating for your craft fair booths, or even end of the year Teacher gifts.
As I mentioned before this is a super easy project all you do is score on on side at 1 1/4″ and flip it to the opposite side and score it again at 1 1/4″. This will be the sides of the purse. On the two other sides that you haven’t scored yet your going to score both of them at 2 1/2″ this will make the middle. After that all you do is fold and burnish all your score lines. You need to take the score lines in the middle and fold them up to the score line on the outside of the box making a corner. Do this to all four sides; this will make the pocket. There’s tons of tutorials out there on YouTube & Pintrest to see what I am talking about. All your scoring can be done using either the Simply Score Scoring Tool or your Stampin’ Trimmer. What you don’t have either of these great and wonderful tools! Well you need to put them on your next order these are must haves and similar tools out there don’t compare to the Stampin’ Up! versions.
Next it’s time to add the handles, I used the Lemon Lime Twist 3/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon for mine. I used about 6 to 8″ per handle, and attached it using Tear & Tape. Once i had the handles in place I taped them in the sides and taped the sides shut, so that it was nice and clean on the inside. I added a strip of Garden green cardstock to this one but I matched the designer series paper for the ones that I sent out to my attendees. I punched some coordinating cardstock using the Lemon Builder Punch (not retiring) and scored it not quite in half to make the closure. I added to neodymium magnets that I got on Ebay. I believe they were the 1/8″ size. I placed them one on the inside of the flap where I wanted it to go and attached it with a mini glue dot, I then covered it with matching paper punched with a 1/2″ circle punch that was also attached with a mini glue dot. I then placed the seconded magnet on it and closed the purse attaching that with a mini glue dot. I covered it so that it was pretty. On the outside of the purse I used the Itty Bitty Fruit Punch pack and punched one of the coordinating fruits out and attached it for an embellishment.
And, that was how I made this cute quick and simple little Tutti-Frutti Gift bag purse. I told you it wasn’t hard at all.
