Hello stampers, crafters, and friends welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop. This month our theme was a great one! We all created cards featuring a Fancy Fold. I picked a great fold for you this month and from what I can tell it’s kind of new. I am going to also share with you a little sneak peek of some new products coming in the new 2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog. So the fold that I am sharing is called the Impossible Card, and you will see why very shortly. It actually only takes a 1/2 sheet (roughly it didn’t takes exactly that much) of cardstock plus your mats and designer series paper.
The sneak peek of products that I am going to share with you is from the Tranquil Texture Suite. This suite of products features a stamp set and framelit bundle. The stamp set has undersea images as well as some great textural images. With both types of images in one stamp set you can save so much time when creating. When you pair it with the framelits to cut out the main images and the coordinating embellishments images you will be able to create some great under the sea cards.
Here’s a look at today’s card.
Like I mentioned above this card actually only uses very few pieces of cardstock. The cardbase is only a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of crumb cake cardstock. The trick to creating this card is actually all in the scoring and cutting sthe cardstock. I learned how to do this fold from Dawn Griffin and I will link to her video here if you are interested. She did such a great job explaining all the folds and cutting to make the card.
I cut a piece of the Tranquil Texture designer series paper for the card, I matted each piece on Tranquil Texture designer series paper. If you look at the cross bar you are going to notice the different color fishes swimming. I used the little die to cut out all the fishes. Behind each die cut I added a scrap of cardstock adhered a little snail behind. It adds just a pop of color.
Here’s a view from the side to show how the center it just standing there in place.
Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you give the Impossible card a try and that you hop the rest of the way through the hop.
