It’s the last Thursday of the month so that means that it’s time for this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month’s hop features the May Good Things Grow March Paper Pumpkin. This is a great one this month, it features a very vintage feel with it’s floral seed packet envelopes and vintage brads. I started out by making the note cards that came in this month’s kit. Once I made the intended cards I started playing around with the elements in the kit. I created this card and and it got me inspired to create a gift set. Here’s a Look at the projects that I created using this month’s kit.
A Vintage Hello:
As I said I started by creating my first alternative card. I took a piece of crumb cake cardstock and cut it down to a A2 size card base. I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 3 3/4 x 5 and sponged around the edges using Early Espresso Classic Ink. I stamped a few of the leaves around the Very Vanilla piece in the same ink. I attached the large die cut from the kit on the front of the card. I added a little bit of the Fresh Fig ribbon, and stamped the hello on one of the little tab, added a couple of the powder pink pearls and attached it the the card front. Next I took a piece of Powder Pink cardstock and cut it to 4 x 5 1/4 and sponged around the edges. I attached the cardfront to the card base and it created the cutest little card.
My next project was the the home decor piece that was inspired by the above card. Once I SAW the big die cut I knew I wanted to create a framed art piece. Here’s a look at the framed piece.
This was really easy to do. I cut the same cardstock as the card except I added a piece of fresh fig and Flirty flamingo cardstock. I then took a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped a few of the leaves, and flowers around. Once that was done I sponged the edges. Once this was done I added the large die cut layered everything as followed; fresh fig, flirty flamingo, powder pink, very vanilla. I stamped May Good things Grow sentiment on the fabulous die cut with all the little holes out. I then started putting everything together. I added some of the extra leaves and flowers on the large die cut. Added a little ribbon, and placed in the frame. I added a few of the other die cuts on the outside. In the upper right hand side I added a little of the white linen thread.
So I had to have something to put the frame in to give as a gift so I whipped up a little gift box and tag. Here’s a look at the gift pack.
I stamped the flowers and leaves around the Powder Pink cardstock in Powder pink classic ink. I used some scraps to create the tag. I stamped the sentiment and added a few of the die cuts. I wrapped the Fresh fig ribbon around the gift packaging and tied a bow. I attached the tag using the lien thread.
Thanks for for dropping by today I hope that you have enjoyed the hop so far, please make sure you hop all the way through and show some love to your favorite posts.
