Today, I have a fun and easy project for you. I am going to share with you a cute way to create a post it note holder using some Stampin’ Up! products from the Occasions Catalog today. Back when the Occasions catalog came out I did my Winter Retreat in A Box and I featured the Tutti-Frutti Suite. I just adore this suite of products because everything is so sweet. I loved the stamp set, designer series Paper pack and all the accessories which is rare for me, usually I don’t care for everything in a suite but this one was the exception.
In my retreat in a box I gave everyone a few pillow gifts which I made featuring the products from the suite. This was one of them.
Tips & Tricks:
One of the things you will want to do to recreate this project is that you will have to take a couple measurements. You need to know the measurement of the Post it note stack. Each brand is different so you will want to measure each. Measure the post it notes by height, width, and depth. Here is a little diagram.
This is how I measured everything. Once I had all the measurements for the post it notes I could then I could start to work on the design for the outside cover. I knew that I wanted a slight over hang on the front so I added just a little to the front. I ended up cutting my cardstock just a 1/8″ shorter than needed because I thought It was two big on my example but forgot to fold everything up before the final cut.
I didn’t add the mat I just cut my paper to the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 size because my post it note was a 3 x 3 square. So it made it really easy. Once I had the designer series paper selected from the Tutti-Frutti Paper Stack I attached it to the front of my project. I love working with this paper stack it has some fun fruit themed images on one side and a geometric pattern on the reverse side. With this feature it allows for any design for any project.
After folding and burnishing everything up I added the post it notes with a couple strips of Tear & Tape on the last page. I stamped the images from the Fruit Basket Stamp Set and cut them out using the 1 1/4″ circle punch. I then punched out a Real Red circle with the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch; I layered everything up with one stampin’ dimensional and a little fast fuse. I added punched one of the little pears from the left over strip of paper using the itty bitty pear punch, and attaching with a mini glue dot.
The finish off the covered post notes I added some old olive baker’s twine to the front cover and secured it into place using a mini glue dot. I didn’t like how much the cover opened so I added just a little tear & tape on the back fold. This is the same measurement that is considered the depth in the diagram above.
