Kindness cards are one of the things that we need to create more of: And, with the Daisy Delight Suite of products from Stampin’ Up! ® creating kindness cards has been so much easier. This suite of products makes creating my card for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #286 a blast and very fast. I love how all the products go together and I don’t have to put a lot of thought effort or time into creating a card that I can use for any type of random act of kindness.
Here’s a look at the sketch image for the challenge. By the way this is a two weeks challenge.
I started out by picking the designer series paper that I wanted to use. I wanted something springy, fun, and colorful; so this designer series paper hit all the marks. Most of my color choices come from the designer series paper every time I use these wonderful papers. Stampin’ Up! ® and their color coordination makes this so much easier when it comes to picking your color scheme. Here’s a look at the “for your kindness” Card that I created.
I started out by cutting down the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper to 3 ¾ x 5 and matting it in a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock cut to 4 x 5 ¼”. I actually had the center piece cut already and just needed to trim it down just slightly. I don’t remember the measurements, but it’s about a ½” all the way around this piece when on the card. The mat for the smaller piece was cut ¼” larger than the Designer Series Paper.
Next it was time to start stamping! I stamped the Daisy stamp on whisper white cardstock in Night of Navy Classic Ink and punched it out using the Daisy Punch. This entire suite was very popular when it came out last June, so popular actually that the Daisy Punch was on back order for a few weeks. I think (and hope) that it will be in the new catalog coming up in a few days. Sorry for the lane swerve there for a minute. So back to what I was talking about I punched the daisy out using the fabulous Daisy Punch and attached them together using mini glue dots. This made building the daisy very easy, I have added a Stampin’ Dimensional between each layer before for a different look. On this card I wanted to keep it simple. I added a small ¼” strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock that I cut into a flagged banner on both ends and stamped the sentiment “for your kindness” in night of navy classic ink and then Versamark before stamping it on the cardstock. Once I had it stamped down I added clear embossing powder and heat set the powder. I added this to the center of the daisy using a couple more mini glue dots. This was all added to the card front.
To finish off the card I added a few of the Regal Enamel shapes in Night of Navy. I picked one of the small circles, a larger circle, and one of the hearts. This not only added a little more of the Night of Navy color but it also added a little more interest to the card.
To make a good presentation once the card was put in the mail I added a couple pieces of designer series paper (actually two strips that were cut from the papers that I used). These little strips were attached with a little snail adhesive. I wanted to add a little something to the envelope. This allows for both the card and envelope to match, without a lot of work.
