Today, I am going to share with you a card that we made last week at the downline meeting that I attend each month. This is not my team’s downline meeting or my upline’s downline meeting. This is a friend’s downline meeting that she allows me to come to since my upline doesn’t hold meetings. Each, month we have a great time laughing, talking, eating, and stamping. Each month someone does food for us and a couple of people do projects. This is the card that was designed by Sheri K. She shared a fun card that featured a few Sale-A-Bration items, okay a lot of Sale-A-Bration items. It was so cute that I had to share it with you today. Here’s the card that we made.
Take a little Spin:
Sheri created a wonderful little spinner card that is just to cute for a birthday card, or anything that you wanted to celebrate. I loved that the card featured all these Sale-a-bration items in just one card. And, the way she combined them into this design was wonderful. The first thing we did was stamped our Panda and let it dry since we were going to be coloring with Stampin’ Write markers. Even through we used the Archival black stamp pad it still needs to sit for a little while to dry before we could color. If you color to fast the ink could smear just a little. While I was waiting of it to dry I did my die cuts.
We cut out the celebrate from the Celebrate You Thinlits in both Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Gray cardstock. If you do not have these great word dies; you differently want to get them now! Why? You, may be asking: Well it’s because these thinlits will be in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog. Sadly they will not be free, when they do move over so you will have to pay for them. Why, not earn them now for FREE with a $100 (before shipping and taxes) order in my online store.
Sheri showed us a great way to get the slide channel. We used the sliding door thinlit and lined the top edge against the card stock. We ran that through the Big Shot and it was all done. Super simple! The spinner was all made the usual way; with the two pennies and dimensionals. I will say that the foam strips and mini Stampin’ Dimensionals are a game changer. They both made it so much easier to build the spinner card up.
To finish off the card I colored in the party hat with Stampin’ write markers in Bermuda bay and lemon lime twist. The Pom Pom at the top of the hat was created with a small clear farted gem that I colored with the dark Bermuda bay Stampin blend marker. I know that someone will love to get this card in the mail. I want to thank Sheri for bringing such a cute card to the monthly meeting.
