Over the weekend myself and four other demonstrators in the area (Thelma Collins, Kathi Jenkins, Charity Wright and Jane Stull) held our Rocket City Stampers Spring Retreat. The retreat is open to all levels of Stampin’ Up!Demonstrators. We had a Friday night Meet & Greet at a local restaurant with a WOW swap. And, the big event was Saturday; and lasted all day. Were we made projects, laughed, swapped, and had a good time.
The event on Saturday is not just about stamping but business training as well. This year we had recent Million dollar achiever and #1 globally in the company Robyn Cardon come and do two talks on business topics.
Her first talk was all about he Secret Sauce to Success. It was very inspiring and a wonderful fun talk. If only we could had found her a chef’s hat to wear. She threw some great ingredients for success in her mixing bowl.
Everyone had a great time and we heard lots of great comments from attendees and let me just say that Robyn is a hoot! Her last presentation of the day was so much fun and the Price Is Right had nothing on her.
Jumping Right In:
I got to present her with a couple little gifts and make her an honorary Rocket City Stamper. And it was such a great honor to do so and she jumped right into her new roll just let me tell you.
Here is when she leaped into the group picture wearing her new shirt.
Here’s a look around at the event.
We had old friends come new friends and our Stampin’ friends from Atlanta even made the three and half hour drive over for the day. And I will tell you having Brian King and Robyn in the same room means your going to have a good time.
Robyn and I actually joined Stampin’ Up! Only a few days or so apart so it made it a little special for me to be able to get her to come to the event and do a speaking engagement.
Occasions on Display:
Each of the five demonstrators that organized the event picked a suite of products from the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog and created samples. Me being the over achiever I am on occasion had two suites.
Here’s a look at our samples.
Jane had the Picture Perfect Party Suite.
Thelma had the Sweet Soirée Suite.
Kathi had the Petal Passion Suite.
My first Suite was the Painted with Love Suite on page 19 of the Occasions catalog.
Charity had the True Gentleman Suite.
My last Suite was the Tutti-Frutti Suite. This was the Suite I used for my Winter Retreat in a Box back in January.
A Southern Soirée:
Each attendee received a retreat bag with the supplies to create the projects and a new stamp set that everything was themed off of. We picked the Southern Serenade stamp set from the Occasions catalog. They also got a few little extras as well. Everyone also left with a door prize that was won throughout the day by random draw.
We had a wonderful catered lunch during the day. I didn’t get pictures of the food but Thelma did and posted them on our Facebook group.
Sadly all things must come to an end and before we called it a day everyone got together for the infamous group photo.
If you would like to attend one of these events and you’re already a demonstrator be on the watch out for a save the date post later on. And if you are not I encourage you to take the leap and become part of the Stampin’ Up! Family by joining my team of stampers and crafters. Now is a great time to sign up because you can earn to additional stamp sets in your starter kit free. I would love to talk to you about it. You can email me anytime. I will share some pictures of the projects that were created for the event in next few days.
