With the January Paper Pumpkin kit (which was titled Heartfelt Love Notes) and a lot of things in the kit to play with I had a lot of fun coming up with alternative projects for you. One of the alternative projects that I came up with was a couple pages using the 6 x 8 pocket pages and the 6 x 8 Basic Black album. I came up with a Valentine’s Day Spread using products from the January Kit. Here’s a look at the pages that I came up with.
This is was a fun spread to create, and is just chalked full of Love, it’s a great Valentine’s Day spread for your memory keeping. I used some of the products from the kit and plus a few additional items to create the pages. I used two of the cards that came in the kit and cut them down.
This was the first page that I came up with, and started with the 4 x 6 card. I started this card by cutting the note card apart and attaching it to a piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock cut at 4 x 6 and then matted a piece of Basic Black Cardstock with the top corners rounded using the retired project life corner punch. I then added the note card part to the card for the pocket. I inserted the card for the inside and adhered it and stamped the Be Mine from the stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink that came in the kit. I then added die cuts from Basic Black, Flirty Flamingo, and Copper Foil Sheets using the Layering Circle Framelits, Sweet & Sassy Framelits, and the hearts from the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies. I attached three of the Rich Razzleberry Enamel Shapes on the card. I popped up a couple of the hearts using mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the second card I took a piece of Basic Black and cut it down to fit the smaller photo pocket. I layered a piece of flirty flamingo cardstock that I stamped using the XOXO and the envelope stamp from the kit in Rich Razzleberry ink. I cut a piece of the left over note card into a 2″ x 3″ strip and used the banner triple punch to make the banner flag. I finished this card off by adding some of the ribbon from the kit and slide it into the pocket.
I did the same thing for my photo card by cutting a piece of Basic Black Cardstock and flirty Flamingo the same size as the card in the opposite pocket.
For the next set of Pocket Pages I created the top pocket page. I cut the Basic Black Cardstock to 4 x 6 and added one of the Flirty Flamingo sticky Banners from the kit in the center. I then took the second not card that I cut down and attached it to the center of the pocket page. I stamped the other envelope that was opened on the cut down note card insert in the upper right hand corner. I attached this coming out of the card base. I added one of the smaller banners in Flirty Flamingo and the vellum flag. I stamped happy Valentine’s Day on the die cut and added Stampin’ dimensionals behind it and placed it over the banners. I added a copper foil cut out heart on a mini dimensional and a couple of the enamel shapes in Flirty Flamingo and Rich Razzleberry.
The next card in the bottom left pocket was created the same as the other small pockets with a basic black card base and Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I added Heart Die cuts (using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits) from some of the scrap pieces from the other alternative projects, along with one of the Vellum Hearts from the kit and a Copper Foil heart that was cut using the large heart from the Lots to Love Box Framelits dies. The foil heart was attached with a couple Stampin’ Dimensionals and covered the adhesive on the vellum heart. To finish the spread I created another photo card for a photo.
So that I could add some journaling to my pages i left white space on both of the 4 x 6 cards. By using the card inserts in these areas it allowed for areas to write about our Valentine’s Day events. To journal on my pages I can use a couple different things. If I want everything to match the cardstock I could use the matching Stampin’ Write markers fine tip and write what I want or the Stampin’ Up! Journaling Pens that come in two different sizes making them great for both bolder and thinner hand lettering and journaling.
