Hello and welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop. I am glad that you glad that you have dropped by. If you are just starting the hope or if you have came from another blog of the previous blog which was Tammy Gill’s Blog. Each month we have a different theme and create cards and projects around that theme. This month are theme is Red.
When I sat down to design my card for this month I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do; so after a little thought I knew what I didn’t want to do. I didn’t want to do what I thought you would see on others blogs today, I didn’t want to do a Valentine’s Card. So after searching through my designer series paper I remembered the Birthday Memories designer series paper had a really cute birthday theme paper in all red so I pulled it out, and got started. So on my card today I am featuring the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and the Birthday Banners Stamp Set. Here’s my card for today.
I started my card by cutting my designer series paper down to 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ and added a small whisper white boarder to it. The whisper white piece was cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ to allow for a nice red mat from the card base. By doing this it allowed me a 1/8″ boarder all the way around the Card.
Once that was completed I stamped the double banner from the stamp set in Real Red Classic Ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Next I stamped my greeting. I went with the Happy Birthday on the top banner and eat all the cake on the second one. This is just one of the fun sentiments that you can create with the Birthday Banners Stamp Set. Not to mention that it with great with designs on the designer series paper since there’s cakes, balloons, presents and party hats on it all in a monochromatic red color theme. See I told you things happen for a reason and it was just meant to be with my card since the theme this month was Red.
At this point I cut the banner out using the bunch of Banners Framelits Dies and my Big Shot. I attached the banner on the card front using stampin’ diemnsionals in the center of the card. This allowed for a clean and simple card design. And, at this point I decided that I didn’t want to add any embellishments to the card front because I didn’t want them to take away from the clean and simple feel of the card.
