Today I am going to share with you a Sneak Peek of two products in the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog and the 2018 Saleabration brochure. I picked the Party Pandas stamp set, which you can get free starting January 3, 2018 with a $50 order before taxes and shipping, from the Saleabration brochure. The designer series paper that I picked came out of the 2018 Occasions catalog. It is called Picture Perfect Party, and is a 6 x 6 paper stack. Here’s what I came up with joining these two new products together.
Tips & Tricks:
I started out designing this card for my sneak peek by picking out a pattern from the paper stack that would work for my card. This paper stack is very interesting. Why, you may be asking well it was designed by one of the concept artists at Stampin’ Up! first with the patterned designs then they took and gathered supplies in the same colors as the patterned designs and in some cases the paper it self was used to create the photographic images on the reverse side. Yes, this paper has photographic imagery of everything that a good party needs: balloons, hats, donuts—you name it! The designed imagery on the other side makes you party even more!
For my card today I picked the piece with the balloons on it. I then masked off the balloon on the panda image with a post it note and inked the image up using Basic Black Archival Ink. I used my stamp postioner to make sure that I got the Panda linked up correctly. By using the positioning tool I was able to stamp the image twice to get a nice crisp black image. Once I get my Stamparatus in I will differently be using it for this type of stamping and much much more. The Stamparatus is Stampin’ Up!’s new stamp postioner that you can reserve now, it will not go live until the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. But, you can reserve one until the 30th of this month and get it in March. If you have not seen the new Stamparatus yet I will share a little video below. I have one reserved and am trying to wait patiently until it comes.
I picked the Lemon Lime Twist balloon at the top of the Designer Series Paper to stamp my Panda to look like it was flying away on. Once I let the ink dry completely: I took a white prismacolor pencil and lightly added some white over some of the white areas of the Panda’s face to make him stand out a little more from the balloon that he’s stamped on. Yes, I think this Panda is a boy just because in my world he is. Once I had the Panda colored in the way I wanted (now I didn’t completely color the white areas, I did leave some of the peekaboo peach balloon showing acting as the shadows on the Panda) I stamped the simple Happy Birthday in the stamp set in basic black right on the front.
I will say that when you are using this pack of paper you don’t need a very fancy image on the card because of the photographic imagery. If you where to do to much it would be to busy and draw your attention away from the wonderful images. This pack of paper is meant to be used on cards that you want to catch someone’s attention with. And both the photographic and patterned images do both an make impressive quick easy cards with just a few supplies.
Once I had the outside done I needed to do the inside of the card. I used a piece of whisper white cardstock cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and simply stamped It’s Your Day! (in Berry Burst Classic ink) and Make A Wish (in Lemon Lime Twist Classic Ink) one right below the other. I took a scrap of the designer series paper that i had trimmed from my cardfront and matted it in Basic Black. This is the same matting as the front of the card. With one exception, where I had used the balloon pattern on the front I used the reverse side on the this little piece on the inside.
If you have decided you have to have this stamp set the only way you can get it is with a $50 order. If you purchase the following supplies you can get this set for free.
