Welcome to this month’s Paper Pumpkin Blog hop were a group of demonstrators get together each month and create alternative projects using the products in that month’s kit. This month’s kit coordinated with last month’s Pinning for Plaid kit. This month’s kit featured some cute little stockings and tags. Here’s a look at my projects this month.
I used both kits to create some fun alternative projects this month. For my cards this month I created a clean and simple card and added a little of the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper that matches both kits. I also created a Gift Box in a Card. I didn’t really want to cut apart the stockings and I had this idea in mind when I saw this month’s Paper Pumpkin How To Video. I used the stockings and created a garland for the tree. Let’s have a closer look at the projects this month.
I stamped on the stockings the letters to spell out Merry Christmas. I used some of the left over cards from last month and created banners to go between every other letter in Christmas because there were not enough stockings to spell it all out. I used the small flagged banners from this month’s kit to stamp the letter on for each banner piece. I used Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Classic Ink to ink up the letters from Letters for You stamp set.
The first card I created was a very simple one. I stamped Joy from the included stamp set in Archival Basic Black ink and placed it on one of the Cherry Cobbler banners. My card base was a piece of 4 1/4 x 11 Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. I used a piece of the black plaid designer series paper matted on a piece of basic black cardstock. I placed a couple of the leaves from the kit on the card. I wanted this to look like mistletoe, so I added a few of the basic pearl jewels.
My next card was a gift box in a card. I used one of the card bases from last month’s kit and cut my opening for my box. I created the box using a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and the lid from one of the inserts for the shaker cards from last month. I embossed a piece of whisper white cardstock using the Winter Wonder TIEF through the Big Shot and then matted it on a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. I then took one of the red penates from this month’s kit and stamped the snowflake and the Let it Snow from this month’s kit. I thought that the card needed a little more so i added some fo the sequins from the October kit and punched out the snowflakes from the tags in the November kit and attached them to the box.
