When I first saw this color challenge for the Paper Craft Crew I thought what in the world am I going to do.  It took me a long time to figure out what I could do with this color combination.  But, finally I figured it out.  Here’s a look at my card today.

Season Like Christmas Photopolymer stamp Set, Feather Together Stamp Set, Very Vanilla thick Cardstock, Tranquil Tide Cardstock, Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin’ Pad, Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin’ Pad, Cajun Craze Classic Stampin’ Pad, Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad, Big Shot, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Classic Label Punch, sponge Brayer, Sponge Daubers, Stampin’ sponges, Snail Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

Here’s the card that shows the color scheme.

Tips & Tricks:

To start out I colored a piece of the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, with a brayer and a Cajun Craze ink pad (see the video on the how to).  If you use the sponge brayer you will have to go over it many times; then use a stampin’ sponge to coat the paper until it’s completely covered.  This was cut down to 3 3/4 x 5.  It’s easier to start out a little larger then cut the Designer series paper down then starting smaller and having a bent or torn edge that you didn’t want.

Season Like Christmas Photopolymer stamp Set, Feather Together Stamp Set, Very Vanilla thick Cardstock, Tranquil Tide Cardstock, Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin’ Pad, Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin’ Pad, Cajun Craze Classic Stampin’ Pad, Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad, Big Shot, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Classic Label Punch, sponge Brayer, Sponge Daubers, Stampin’ sponges, Snail Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

This was layered on a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock cut to 5 1/4 x 4 which was put on the card base of Very Vanilla.   I stamped the wonderful tree from the Season like Christmas stamp set starting with the tree trunk in Soft suede Classic ink.  Next I stamped the fullest tree image in Lemon Lime Twist classic ink.  After that I inked up the stamp with the less amount of branches in Tranquil Tide classic ink.  By doing this it represents the light and dark in the nature.  I used the largest stitched oval from the Stitched shapes framelits to cut out the tree.  I then cut a scalloped oval out of tranquil tide and placed the tree on top using dimensionals.  To finish off the card I stamped the wishing you a sentiment after masking off the rest of it in Cajun Craze and punched it out using the Classic label punch then using the punch again to  create flagged ends.  I popped it up on the mini stampin’ dimensionals.  To finish off the card I stamped the tree three more times on the inside and stamped happy birthday from the Feather Together Stamp Set right above them.
