Today I am going to share with you a technique called Stained Glass.   This is a fun creative technique that gives your cards a brand new incredibly fancy look but is super-simple. It mimics the sparkling look of stained glass on your card.  It works great on a number of images today I am going to show you how to do it using the Vintage Leaves stamp set.  Here’s a look at today’s card.

This technique looks a lot harder then it really is.  Once you do it the first time you are going to be like oh my gosh that was so easy.  You will need Vellum cardstock to do this technique, it’s the key ingredient to this look.  You are going to either heat emboss your image or use Archival Basic Black ink to stamp on the vellum be careful not to smear the image.  Any ink on the vellum takes longer to dry.  I preferred to to heat emboss rather then taking a chance at smearing my image everywhere.  Once I had the image heat embossed (I picked the gold embossing powder for a very elegant look) I flipped it over and started coloring inside the lines using my Stampin’ Write Markers.  Again remember you are using vellum so it takes awhile for the ink to dry even with heat setting it.  Once the ink had dried I cut out the leaf using the Leaflets framelits and attached it to my stitched circle using mini glue dots.  This will not work if the ink is the slightest bit wet, so beware.  After that I layered the rest of the card up as normal.
