Today’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge is an Inspiration Challenge. It was hard to pick which element of the inspiration image I wanted to go with. I finally narrowed it down to what I wanted to use for my card today. Before we get into my card let me share wit you the inspiration image.
Tips & Tricks:
I started out with the base and stamped the umbrellas (the same one as the main image) over and over on the background in Soft Sky classic ink. I also stamped clouds around in the open spaces. I then stamped the top of the umbrella in Flirty Flamingo Classic Ink and cut it out using the Umbrella Weather Framelits along with three clouds. I also stamped the longer handle in tuxedo black ink cut it out with the framelits and then colored it with my Stampin’ Write Markers.
All the colors that I used on this card were from this limited pallet. I stayed with the three colors to keep it cohesive. I popped the top of the umbrella up on Stampin’ Dimensionals on the soft sky layer. This layer was ran through the Big
Shot with the softly falling TEIF instead of using the rain die or one of the other dies from the Umbrella Weather Framelits. I added some of the mini silver sequins around the layer to draw a little sparkle to the card, and added some of the 1/8 ” silver ribbon. I thought that the silver represented how everything has a silver lining no matter how bad. You know the old saying Every Cloud has a Silver Lining, that’s why I felt the ribbon and sequins worked. Since I made this card as a thinking of you/ sympathy/ cheer up card type card. I used the sentiment wishing you brighter days ahead on my card today, it just called out to me.
Once I got the focal image in place I thought it still needed something. So I added the clouds coming into the focal image. I had to add a Stampin’ Dimensional under the corner that was coming off the focal image so that everything was the same height. I cut a small strip of whisper white and stamped the sentiment on and placed it under the focal image.
When it came time to finish up the card and I stamped one of the umbrella of the envelope and colored it using the same colors above. On the flap I stamped the same umbrellas all over the flap along with some of the clouds in my three colors of choice.
