I have always loved sunflowers. Maybe it has to do with the fact I have always loved Van Gogh’s Sunflower painting, or maybe its’ because I just love the colors. They are one of my most favorite flowers and specifically for the Fall Season. So when I saw the Painted Harvest stamp set in the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog I had to get this bundle. I have played with it a couple of times and wanted to use it for today’s Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch Challenge. Here’s a look at today’s card.
Here’s a look at this weeks inspiration sketch from the Paper Craft Crew. Make sure that you check all the projects that the other design team members created for this weeks challenge. Tips & Tricks:
I started this card with a 4 1/4 x 11″ Thick Whisper White Cardstock scored at 5 1/2″. After cutting and scoring the cardbase I stamped the Tree Rings Background stamp in Soft Suede Classic Ink on the cardbase. Once I had the background image stamped on the card I cut a piece of the wood textures designer series paper stack down to 2″ x 4″, and matted it on a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock cut at 2 1/8″ x 4 1/8″s. I then stamped the sunflower in Crushed Curry Classic ink and then the seconded sunflower (the more detailed) image in Cajun Craze Classic Ink. I stamped the center of the sunflower in Soft Suede Classic Ink in the center of the flower. Next I stamped it again and cut it and the Sunflower out using my paper snips. I then stamped the leaves in Garden Green Classic Ink on Old Olive Cardstock and punched it out using the fabulous new Leaf Punch. You can get the Leaf Punch and the Painted Harvest Photopolymer Stamp Set in a cost saving bundle. I stamped thank you from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set on a piece of scrap cardstock and punched it out using the classic label punch and then used it to flag the end.
Once I had everything stamped and punched out, I started layering everything together. First I took the Wood Texture Designer Series Paper piece and layered it on a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock. I added some Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon to the front of the the layer and attached it to the card front. Once that was done I put two Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the sunflower and placed it over the ribbon. I added the leaves behind the sunflower using Mini Glue Dots. I then placed the other center on a Stampin’ Dimensional and placed it on the flower. I added the flagged banner and placed it just behind the sunflower. To finish off the card I added some dots of multipurpose liquid glue around the left hand side of the card and on the center of the sunflower. Once the glue was on the card in place I then poured some Gold Stampin’ Glitter on it. You do have to work a little fast at this point to get the glitter on the glue before it dries, but it makes for a sparkling great affect on your card without a lot of work. This adds just the right amount of shine and sparkle to the card.
