Today my project features some of the new products from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. There are some very cute items in this upcoming catalog. And, let’s just say my wish list is very long. I may have to sale an organ or two to get everything that’s on my list. In the catalog are some great gift ideas and projects that are there to inspire you to create. I wanted to share with you a quick and easy way to use some of these products and some scraps that I am sure that you have in your scrap bin. Here’s a look at today’s project.
Tips & Ticks:
I started this project of by gathering together some Real Read cardstock that I had in my scrap bin and cut them down to 3×6 and scored them at 3” to create a 3×3 card. I took some garden green scraps (actually card fronts that I cut wrong, but couldn’t part with them) and cut them down to 2 ¾ x 2 ¾ inch mats. Then I took a couple pieces of the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Stack and cut them down to 2” x 2” square. I layered all this together and took some Whisper White cardstock scraps and stamped sentiments from the Merry Little Labels and Merry Mistletoe and punched them out using the Everyday Label Punch. I stamped everything either in Real Red or Garden Green.
3 x 3 cards go together really quick and are great becuase you can put them together with gifts as tags, give them to people, leave them on cars to brighten someone’s day and a whole lot more. All you have to do is take your scraps and cut them to size and stick them together. I always use scraps for my 3×3 cards becuase I have them and I don’t have to cut more cardstock, when I can use what I have that more then likely would get thrown away. This is a great way to get rid of those odd or off cut pieces of cardstock that we try to find uses for but just can’t part with. All you have to have to create these little cards of wonder is the scraps a little designer series paper some snail, ink, and maybe some ribbon and stampin’ dimensionals.
Wrap It Up:
After I created the cards for my gift set I needed something to put them in. Well the mini pizza boxes that will be in the new Holiday catalog fit the bill. I decorated it to match the cards. I used scraps of cardstock and some of the same designer series paper to decorate the front of the pizza box. I added a little of the 1/4″ quilted christmas ribbon tied into a bow and added to the front of the box. The tag was created the same way as the tags on the card except with one little difference. I used a garden green tag placed behind the tag on the front.
