Hello stampers crafters and friends today on my Facebook page I shared how to make two quick and easy Birthday Cards using the Celebrate You stamp set. You can click on the link above to watch the video, but I will be refilming it tomorrow and uploading it to YouTube: Once I do I will post the link here. Because someone (Me!) forgot to download the video to upload to YouTube. This is been one of those weeks that I should have just stayed in bed. Here’s a look at the cards that I created for the video today. I will just go ahead and tell you that I also forgot to turn the video, even though I thought I had, I did not. Lol, sorry!
I had also offered these cards as part of my Celebrate Birthdays class that I did at the end of June and as a Togo Option. You can read more about the togo options above under the Togo Tab under events. I have sold my last togo option for this class be on the look out for other options in classes that are offered as a Togo Option.
Tips & Tricks:
These cards are really quick to put together. Let’s start with the party hat card shall we.
- The card base is in Tranquil Tide cut at 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2. I embossed the card front using the Polka Dot Basics Textured Impression Embossing Folder. I wanted to dress up the card just a little. I then cut a 3 1/4 x 4 3/4″ piece of So Saffron cardstock into a banner and embossed it using the Oh My Stars Textured Impression Embossing Folder. I then did a smaller banner in whisper white in which I stamped the Birthday Hat in Calypso Coral classic ink. I added a few rhinestones to it in my original class, but in the video I didn’t.
- For the Let’s Celebrate You Card I kept it really simple. I used a card base of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. The card front is a piece of whisper white cut at 4 x 5 1/4. I stamped the cake in Lemon Lime Twist Classic Ink and took my Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Marker and inked up the candle on top of the already inked image. Since the Lemon Lime Twist is lighter then the Tranquil Tide, it covers the lighter color beautifully. Once this was done I stamped the image on my cardstock. Once it was stamped I took the 1/8″ hand held hole punch and punched out two holes right above the sides of the candle. At this point I took about 8 inches of the Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon pushed it through the holes and tide a simple knot. I find that if I start my knots and pull the ribbons straight up and down and then tie again and only pull one side of the ribbon to the left while holding the right one very firm. After the knot is secured I add fast fuse to the back of the card front and add it to the card. I told you that they were quick and easy.
