Summer is just around the corner, the official date is Tuesday, June 20th, and with summer comes summertime events.  In the south that means fishing, picnics, swimming, and so much more.  Most of us head to the beach, or river during the summer months to get some much needed rest and relaxation.  I don’t personally fish but I do love to look at the aquariums, filled with bright colored fish.  So today I am sharing with you a card that I created using the Seaside Shore stamp set.   Here’s a look at my card.

Seaside Shore stamp set, Linen thread, 1 3/8" circle punch, Stampin' Up! #rickadkins, #rckinsmonstudio,

  • 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Pool Party Cardbase scored at 4 1/4
  • Sahara Sand 5 1/4 x 4
  • Lemon Lime Twist 4 3/4 x 3 1/2
  • Whisper White 4 1/2 x 3 1/4, scrap piece about 1 3/4 x 4

First thing that I did for this card was take the Sahara Sand piece and stamped the dotted stamp in Sahara Sand classic ink in a repetitive pattern.  I stamped this image every 1/4″ using the grid paper.  I could have used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for this process and gotten each row completely straight, but this wasn’t a must have thing.  Because, some of the images that was a skew was going to be covered.  Next I stamped the images from the stamp set and layered this piece on the lemon lime twist cardstock.  I stamped the little fish on the scrap piece of cardstock and punched it out using a 1 3/8″ circle punch and popped it up using a couple Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Seaside Shore stamp set adds a splash of summer to your projects with sea-themed images. This stamp set brings the beach to your cards and scrapbook pages without having to take a trip.  The colors that I picked for this card are.

They are a fun mix of selections from three of the Stampin’ Up! color families.   These colors all play with each other nicely.
