It’s generally understood that June is one of the most popular month for weddings. With weddings come wedding showers, bridal showers, and other types of showers. So with that we all need cards for those showers, and weddings. So I created a card for a wedding shower that my sweetie had to go to last week. What says summer wedding like daisies. So I created a wedding shower card using the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the card I designed.
The stamp set that I used for this card was the new Special Celebrations set from the new 2017 Annual catalog. When you get or create a handmade card one of the most important things is the sentiment. Most of the time we focus on the outside sentiment only, but the inside sentiment is just as important. The Special Celebrations stamp set features both the inside sentiments as well as coordinating outside ones. This stamp set will work for love, marriage, babies in baby carriages, and so much more!
Here is another card using this stamp set that is featured in the 2017 Annual Catalog. As you can see below this card will give your cards the professional looking sentiments that you find in any big box store, but allows you to reach those milestones of life all while letting you still create and give the love that handmade cards lets us deliver.
A Field of Daisies:
The background of this card is one of the great patterns from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper. This is a great pack of paper! The patterns have the wonderful look of watercolors without any of the fuss. There are twelve different wonderfully painted designs. The colors in this pack are paper all work together very nicely with coordinating colors: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pool Party, Tranquil Tide, Whisper White.
I double matted the Designer Series Paper and added a strip of Whisper white with the outside sentiment. I then took the Daffodil Delight Double Stitched ribbon and placed it under the sentiment piece to add a dimensional element as well as a little texture to the card front. The Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double stitched ribbon features two rows of straight stitching on one side, crisscross stitching on the reverse. Ribbon is an easy way to add style to your projects. Tie it, loop it, wrap it, cut it. The Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon also helps to balance out the picture plain of the card front adding in the needed textural elements all while coordinating, without distraction to the main focal image. To tie in the envelope I added some of the matching designer series paper to both the outside flap of the envelope as well as creating a insert showcasing the reverse design on the inside of the envelope.
