With Father’s Day right around the corner this months theme for the One Stamp At a Time blog hop was perfect. This month’s theme is All About Men/Masculine. So I picked the stamp set Guy Greetings from Stampin’ Up!. This stamp set lets you take your hat off to dad and all the other significant men in your life! They’ve done so much for you–the least you can do is make them a card that they’ll be proud to show off, stamped with their favorite things. Here’s a look at my projects.
I took at piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped a few of the images from Guy Greetings randomly around the cardstock to create my own Designer Series Paper. I picked these colors based on the Bit O Honey candies that I planned on using as the treat in the box. Not to mention that they all work so well together.
I took the Popcorn box thinlits and cut out two of them. I then created the box, and added some shredded real red cardstock in the bottom of it and added some Bit O Honey candies in one of our 3 x 6 gusseted bags and placed it in the popcorn box. I tied some solid black bakers twine, and basic black bakers twine around the bag and added a tag that I created to coordinate with the card and popcorn box.
The popcorn box is a great addition to any craft room. It can create so many different types of boxes. The thinlits come with different parts that can create different types of boxes. You can create a scalloped top box along with other parts that create different tags. The card that I created for this month’s hop was created basically the same way. I used the same technique of creating DSP to create the front focal image.
This layer was then placed on my Pacific Point mat, and I placed it on a 4 1/4 x 11 Real Red cardbase. I then took a piece of very vanilla cardstock and stamped Happy Father’s Day in Real Red. I cut this to be the same size as the card front. I added some of the Crushed Curry Enamel Shapes to this piece to tie in the tag.
To tie in the envelope to the card I stamped the car image from the stamp set on the flap of the envelope. This was stamped in Crushed Curry with both first and second generation stamping. I also added the Happy Father’s Day to the flap in Real Red to tie in the colors of the card, as well as stamping the hats on the bottom left of the bottom of the envelope.
