Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends June Blog Hop. Today is a big day not just because of today’s blog hop, but today is the first day the NEW 2017 Annual Catalog goes live for customers. Yay! It actually was perfect timing because we picked today to share our favorite new item or items from the new Catalog. I picked a returning stamp set and paired it with one of my favorite new InColors, a new Paper Stack, and a wonderful must have new Thinlit. Here’s a look at my card today.
I picked the new Lemon Lime Twist as my major color for my card today and added accents of Whisper White and Basic Black. Lemon Lime Twist is a hot bright fun summer color that reminds me of a limeade. Bright crisp and sweet when added to any card. The color swatch below looks a little more lemon then the actual color does in person.
I wanted to create a card that was simple but yet had a wow factor to it. So I picked a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack which features all the new 2017-2019 InColors. If you think the patterns looks like you have seem them before. You probably have. Stampin’ Up! took some of their favorite patterns from the Floral boutique Designer Series Paper from last years annual catalog and hand painted the new designs in new in colors. The new paper stack is a 12 x 12 paper stack that features four double side designs in each new color so that gives you a total of 4o sheets.
I then took the brand new Happy Birthday Thinlit die and cut one out in Basic Black and another one in Whisper white. I glued the black one down first and added the whisper white one on top of the basic black slightly off set to create a drop shadow effect. This is a must have to anyone that loves their big shot. It’s a great size for cardmaking, scrap booking pages, or pocket scrap booking. It’s about 3″ x 2 3/4″ or so, I am country measuring because my ruler is outside. What is country measuring, well you take you finger and hold it up to your item and measure from one knuckle to the other that’s about 1″, so you just add it up. It fits nicely on the card front without any worry.
To finish off the card I added some of the 1/2″ Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon to the front and tied a faux knot on the front. I added the inside sentiment using the Number of Years stamp set.
