My husband needed a 50th Anniversary card for this Saturday so he asked me to create something special for his cousins Anniversary, so I had to think of something special for their 50th Anniversary. So I pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets Numbers of Years since it has the big numbers and other some great images that compliment the numbers as well as some other sentiments. Here’s a look at today’s card.
I created a Detailed Floral Gatefold card for this special occasions. Here’s a look at the inside of the card.
I started this card by cutting the card base in Powder Pink measuring 4 1/4 x 11. Next I did my detailed floral die cuts on both ends of the cardstock. At that point I measured in from both sides and did my score lines then. I then cut two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock to the size of the gates and attached them using the multipurpose liquid glue and a sponge. After that was dried I fussy cut around the outer edge of the floral die cuts. I thought that it would be better to do it that way then to use the edgelit to cut the edge off. I took the 1/8″ hand held punch and punched out a couple of the leaves and then took a craft knife and cut them both out completely so that I had a place for the ribbon. I stamped the images on the inside next on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 5 1/4 x 4. I stamped the flowers, leaves, and sentiments. I then die cut the five and zeros from the Large Number framelits in Gold Foil and attached them over the empty spaces in the flowers. This finished off the inside of the card.
I kept the color theme very subtle with Powder Pink (2017-2019 InColor), Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz. These are the colors that I used for the colors in the card. I wanted it to be very wedding like, and since it’s not quite summer yet and still technically spring, the soft pastel colors are perfect. The brightest color I used was the Gold Foil. I paired these colors with the warm soft Very Vanilla. I also wanted this to be reminiscent of a vintage wedding dress.
To finish off the total look of the card I stamped the envelope with the word Happy form Number of Years and the five and zero and the th in Powder Pink. I am really into decorating the envelopes lately. This allows people get a completed card from the start, once they receive the card in the mail the decorated envelope gives the first touch of excitement.
