Hello stampers, crafters, and friends today I am going to share with you a home decor project that was shared with us at Onstage in Savannah in April. I can not remember the presenter that shared it with us, but her version was a little bit different then how I created this wonderfully fun home decor project. It features a new bundle that will be coming up in the new catalog. This has became one of my favorite bundles in the new catalog. I know that you are wondering what all is in the new catalog but I can not show you, but if you want to see it early you can always join my team and be able to add the items in the product preorder to your $99 starter kit. Here’s a look at my project for today.
Tips & Tricks:
Like I said this is one of my go to bundles, from the new catalog. I just love how versatile it is.
- I started by stamping all my flowers and layering them up.
- I found that the tombow multipurpose liquid glue worked best for this process.
- Once I had all these done I cut my floral wire to size and crated a little right angle at the top.
- I attached all these together using hot glue onto a 1″ circle that was sliced in the middle.
- I took some blue floral stones from a big box store, and a small mason jar, and a bunch of small flowers to fill out the jar.
When you create this project people will never guess that it’s made from just a few sheets of cardstock, it looks very very nice. I was very please with the the way that this project turned out. Really and truly it doesn’t take a lot of work, and it goes together very easily. It was a matter of stamping each flower twice on matching cardstock and using a wink of stella clear brush pen to create some shadows on the petals this creates a more realistic look. Also by adding in your paper flowers into a bouquet of greenery it not only fills space but adds to the look of a fuller bouquet along with helping to stabilize the flowers in the arrangement.
While we are speaking of arranging flowers here are a few rules that I learned while working in a floral shop.
- Your flowers should only be one and half the size of the vessel that you are placing them in.
- You have three sections of an arrangement, Heaven, earth, and bellow.
- You have triangles in the arrangement. You start with three flowers in a visual triangle and add to that.
I want to take just a few minutes and talk to you about another a new embellishment that will be coming out in the new catalog. It’s a wonder new ribbon that is just gorgeous. The ribbon has a double stitch in the center on one side and the other is a double stitched line. It ties beautifully. Here’s a little sneak peek of this wonderful ribbon that will be coming out soon.
Everything’s Better with Bling:
These new little embellishments are so so pretty. I just love them! They can add a whole new amount of bling to your projects in June. They come in two different colors clear and gold. You can earn a set of these embellishments as a gift from me by making a $35 purchase in my online store before shipping and taxes using my monthly host code. You can find the latest host code in the side bar of my blog. Here’s a look at both sets of the new Faceted gem Embellishments.
As you can see there’s a lot in the package. As soon as I can order more of them I plan on order a lot.
