Hello stampers, crafters, and friends, the past week or so I needed to send out two congratulatory wedding cards to two same sex couples, that we are friends with. I needed a card for a female couple and a male couple, so I sat down and made them at the same time. Here’s a look at the two cards I created for the happy couples.
I wanted the cards to represent the love that each couple shared, but I wanted them to fit with each couple. The color combination for the Pink card I used Blushing Bride, Whisper White, and Basic Black. For the male card I took my inspiration from an ascot tux. The colors used were Basic Gray and Whisper White.
The Seasonal bells stamp set from the Holiday Catalog was carried over so it was perfect to create both these cards. This stamp set is perfect for weddings as well as Holidays. And, I bet you can find more occasions to use it for as well.
All THINGS PINK:
For this card I wanted it to stay famine soft and genteel. So I went with the Blushing Bride, Whisper White and Basic Black color Combination. First thing I did was come up with the paper size I needed. My card base is a standard A2 size card in Basic Black. Next my Blushing Bride piece (5 1/4 x 4) was embossed using the Happy Hearts Texture Impressions Embossing Folder. Next I started out with a piece of whisper white cut at 3 3/4 x 5, which I later cut down to create more of a border and better balance on the card. I embossed the whisper white piece using the Floral Affection TIEFs, after I had stamped the lace detail using the Delicate Detail (Sale-A-Bration) Stamp set. I actually used two stamps from that set but ended up not liking the look so I cut a piece of 1/2 x 3 3/4 piece of blushing bride and stamping a day to celebrate in basic black archival ink from So In Love Stamp set from the 2017 Occasions catalog. The bells were stamped on blushing bride card stock and punched out using the Bell punch (also a carryover item). Since I needed a lesbian couple card I had to stamp Mrs & Mrs but you can easily stamp Mr and Mrs on this card since those stamps are not together. I next stamped the envelope flap with the bells and one of the leaf images from the stamp sets above to complete it, and to tie everything together.
For my masculine gay couple card I picked colors that are in a classic Ascot, Basic Gray and Whisper White. So the first thing that I did was I took the Basic Gray Card A2 size card base and Diagonal Stripe Background stamp and inked it up in VersaMark and added Clear embossing powder over the whole thing and heat embossed it. This was what gave the stripes a two tone effect. Next I layered my other pieces together I used a Basic Gray mat and a whisper white piece for stamping. I stamped the bells from the Seasonal bell Stamp set and added my Mr to each bell and stamped best wishes as the wedding bells rings as my sentiment. Next I took a piece of the 1/8″ silver ribbon and adhered a piece across the top of the card and created a bow to tie the bells together. Well actually I just placed it where it looked like it was tied together. To finish off the card I stamped congratulations from So in love on the inside whisper white panel. Since I needed a matching envelop I stamped the diagonal stripes along the top flap of the envelop in Basic Gray Archival Ink.
These are really quick and easy cards to mass produce. It didn’t take a lot of supplies and went really quick. I love cards that are easy to reproduce for you. Each couple that received these cards were so happy when they got them and couldn’t wait to come to me and tell me thank you for the wonderful card. That they were so beautiful.
