Hello stampers crafters and friends, today I am sharing a little fun card that you can change the colors up and make it for anyone.   I wanted to create a card that is using one of my favorite stamp sets from the Occasions catalog and one from the Sale-A-Bration brochure that I have not used it.   I used Yummy in My Tummy and Any Occasions to create this card.   I wanted to use a little no line coloring to make the images stand out.   Here’s a look at my card today.

Sizes & Dimensions:

  • Pool Party Cardstock 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • So Saffron Cardstock 3 3/4 x 3 3/4
  • Whisper white Cardstock 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 & 5 1/4 x 4

This is a really quick and easy card to create.  It only involves a little ink some paper and then you get to color away.  To do no line coloring I stamped the image in Pool Party classic ink and then colored it in using the Pool Party, Soft Sky, and So Saffron Stampin’ Write Markers.   I started out with the Soft Sky marker because it was the lightest color out of the blue.  Once I got it all colored in I came back in with the Pool Party marker and added in where I wanted my shadows to be.  I then colored in the tummy, paws, and horns with the So Saffron.  I started out lightly and then came back in and added another layer of color.

High-quality, smooth color pencils. Perfect for watercoloring stamped images. Use with Aqua Painters, Blender Pens, or alone.

Once it was all colored in I came back and added some more shadows with the watercolor pencils.  I used the Pacific  Point, Bermuda Bay, and Whisper White.  I used the two blues to enhance some of the shadows of the monster and the Whisper White to add to the highlights.

Our watercolor pencils are high-quality, smooth color pencils.  Perfect for watercoloring stamped images.  Use with Aqua Painters, Blender Pens, a Wink-of-Stella clear brush pen or alone.  Our watercolor pencils features 13 in Stampin’ Up! colors.  These pencils blend and move very easily.  These pencils are a wonderful tool in your coloring arsenal.  Depending on how much pressure you place on pencils will depend on how much pigment is placed on the card.

For my card I lightly colored in the shadow areas just enough to enhance the shadows.  Once I got all the coloring done I came back in with my Wink-A-Stella clear brush pen to smooth out and soften the coloring.

Once everything was dry I added the Happy Birthday from Any Occasions to the front all-occasions-monster-card-insideof my card in Basic Black Archival ink.   Once I was done with the front of the card I moved on to the inside of the card where I stamped some of the banners from the stamp set on the top left and right of the card.  The banners were stamped with basic black, pool party, and so saffron classic and archival inks.   Once that was done I added the little blob monster on the bottom left of the card and colored him in the same way as I did the outside monster.  When you are coloring make sure that you pay attention to your light source.  Which way is your light coming from.   As you can see in my picture here the light is come from the center of the image so the sides appear a little darker while the center is very light.

Once I had everything colored and stamped on the inside I added the Happy Happy Happy Birthday by coloring in the parts of the stamps with the markers and stamping them down one at a time.  I used the same sentiment stamp from the Any Occasions stamp set.  Since it was photopolymer I could bend the stamp and straighten it out enough to stamp the images straight instead of with the curve.   This is a great way to make the life of your stamps go further.

The only other stamping I did on the card was I stamped the small little present and bow from the Any Occasions stamp set around the cardbase in Pool Party Classic ink.  This created a nice pattern and more interest to the front of the card.  Once that was all done I layered everything together an popped the image on the front up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
