Hello stampers, crafters, and friends today is the most romantic day of the year, and my project today will help add a little romance for your big evening. My project today is a luminary created using the Bloomin’ Love Thinlits. Here’s a look at today’s project.
I just love this project. It does take a little bit of time but it was well worth the effort to complete once I got it done, it was very very nice and so very pretty when it was complete.
Tips & Tricks:
To create the luminary I had to us a piece of 12 x 12 Real Red Cardstock. I cut the cardstock in half and had to piecemeal it together to make it work. I first scored each 6 x 12 piece at 3 3 3/4 on the long side and at 2″ on the short side. This gave me three 3 3/4 x 4 squares with a 1/4″ over hang. I cut off one of the square with the 1/4″ over hang off the second piece and attached it to the first using tear & tape. This created a four panel measuring 6 x 16 1/4. I added Tear & Tape to the 1/4″ over hang and started cutting the Sending Love Glassine Sheets to 5 7/8 x 12 with one being 5 7/8 x 5 7/8, this way I can sat it aside to work on the cut outs.
I laid the Bloomin’ Heart thinlit centered in each square and ran them through the big shot. I cut them all out then added the glassine paper behind. At this point I reattached the heart die cuts using the sponge and glue technique. I let everything dry and attached the box close. I used fast fuse to close up the box, on the inside I added a 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 square of Real Red (cut from one of the extra pieces) on the inside to complete it, and finish off the inside. Next I added my battery operated votive candle to the inside and this is the result.
It just gives the perfect little glow to my project today. You could make a few of these and sit them around to add a very romantic feel to your plans tonight, or any romantic evening you have planned.
