Hello stampers, crafters, and friends; I hope that you are having a wonderful day. There’s only one more day left before the most romantic day of the year. Yes, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, are you ready. Make sure that you check my blog tomorrow for a project that will help make your evening very romantic. Here’s a look at today’s project its a self closing box that I created a couple weeks ago and had keep it back until today.
This is a pretty good size box it will hold a lot of goodies, for your sweetie. It stands about six” tall from the top to the bottom. I can fit a lot of chocolates in this box, my sweetie will be very excited to receive this box tomorrow.
Measurements & Scorelines:
- This box takes a piece of 8″ x 11″ Real Red cardstock to create.
- On the simply score scoring tool on the long side (11″ side) you will score at 1 3/4″, 3 1/2″, 5 1/4″, 7″, 8 3/4″, & 10 1/2″.
- While the paper is on the 11″ side you are going to make tick marks at the top at: 7/8″, 2 5/8″, 4 3/8″, 6 1/8″, 7 7/8″, & 9 5/8″
- On the short side (8″ side) score at 2″ & 4″
- You will need: (6) 3 3/4″ x 1 1/2″ pieces of Whisper White Cardstock
- You will also need: (6) 3 1/2″ x 1 1/4″ pieces of Sending Love Designer Series Paper
Once you make the score marks made now it is time to make the top part of the box. You will need a steel Ruler for this part of the project. We have to connect our tick marks with the start of each corner from each panel. So for example you will join one corner at the top to the center tick mark and make a score line. You will do this all the way around the hexagon box. So you will have to score lines going to the center. Once you have everything put together you will have a top that closes and looks like this.
