Hello stampers, crafters and friends, I hope that you are having a wonder day.  Today I am sharing my take on the Paper Craft Crews theme Challenge.  Yes, this week we are having a theme challenge and this week we have a wonderful timely challenge for you.  This week all the design team members came up with a card using the theme Love.   Which is a very timely challenge considering Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.   Here’s a look at my card for this week’s challenge.

More Then One Layer:

My cardbase for my card today is a 4 1/4 x 11 (scored at 5 1/2) piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock.   My mats are Real Red (4 x 5 1/4) Blushing Bride (3 7/8 x 5 1/8) which are layered below my focal image (3 3/4 x 5).

My focal point of my card was stamped with the flowers from the Bunch of Banners stamp set in Blushing Bride Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, and a touch of Real Red.   Once this was complete I stamped a Real Red heart (on Blushing Bride) from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set and cut it out using the medium heart punch.  I sat this aside, and pulled out my vellum cardstock .

All it took was a scrap piece big enough for my stamp.  I took some versamark ink and inked up the banner with it first.   Next I inked it up in real red while the other ink was still dry.  This was stamped on the vellum and clear embossing powder was applied and heat set.  I did the same thing with sentiment but in basic black.   I ran it though the big shot with the matching Bunch of Banners framelits.  I did have to snip a little bit more of the banner to fit the heart in correctly.  I attached this with mini glue dots.

I didn’t want the banner to interfere with the heart but I did need it to hid parts of the flowers coming from behind.  This is were the vellum cardstock came into play.  It would defuse the background but still allow the heart to show though.  Which worked out perfectly.

To finish off my card I added some metallic sequins to add a little bit of sparkle an shine.
