Good morning my friends, I hope that you are having a wonderful day.   Today I am sharing with you a new birthday card featuring new products from the Occasions (Spring/Summer) Catalog.   The featured stamp set today is Birthday Blast.  This stamp set throws its stars up in the air like it just doesn’t care. But you will care … about these celebratory stamps.
Let’s have a look at this star spangled stamps set.

Look at these great big sentiments, they make for a great focal point for your card.   Here’s a look at the card that I created with the Celebrate you! stamp from this set.

Tips & Tricks:

I wanted the main focus of the card to be on the simple big sentiment.   So I stamped the sentiment using Pacific Point classic ink.  Since my card base is Tangerine Tango and the balloon pattern from the Party Animal Designer Series Paper is predominately Tangerine Tango; the Pacific Point ink pops out more.  This is because on the artistic color wheel they are complimentary colors.   To make that layer pop out even more use a thin basic black mat.

To tie in the emerald envy I added a little bit of the Emerald Envy 1/8″ Taffeta ribbon.  This also serves as a break in the design from the busy balloon patterned DSP and the top Whisper White piece.  To weight the sentiment side of the image I tied a little slip knot bow on that side.  This also draws attention to the sentiment.

Color Combination:

This is a fabulous color combination that can be used for both male and feminine depending on which way you put the colors together.   By changing up how the colors are placed together and which color is dominate can change the mood of the card.

I added the sentiment, stars, and streamers to the inside of the card to add a more festive feel to the card.

This year I am focusing on Birthdays a lot more.  I feel very strongly that we spend to much time on Facebook and other social media sending Birthday wishes.  It is a proven fact that people are more happy and smile when they get a card in the mail.  People send to many wishes on social media or by text, and since I enjoying making cards and teaching how, I want to make a change and share what I love. So I am sending out more birthday cards, and I would love to send you one.  You can fill out the form below and I would be happy to send you a card on your birthday.
